Jaroslav Flegr

Jaroslav Flegr is Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague, where he lso heads the Institutional Review Board. In addition to topics in evolutionary biology, he also conducts research in evolutionary psychology at the National Institute of Mental Health.

Prof. Flegr discovered the effects of latent toxoplasmosis and Rh factor on human behavior, and mental and physical health. He is an author of the theories of frozen plasticity and frozen evolution. In addition to some 150 scholarly papers, he published four monographs, including Frozen Evolution, or, That’s Not the Way It Is, Mr. Darwin (2008) and a standard Czech-language textbook of evolutionary biology (3rd Ed. 2018).
