Ryan Jenkins

Ryan Jenkins is an assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy at the California Polytechnic (San Luis Obispo). His research interests include applied ethics (especially military ethics and emerging technologies), normative ethics (especially consequentialism), as well as environmental ethics and philosophy of technology.

Dr. Jenkins has recently co-edited, with Bradley Jay Strawser and Michael Robillard, a volume of new papers on military ethics, Who Should Die? The Ethics of Killing in War (Oxford University Press, 2017), and, with Patrick Lin and Keith Abney, a volume on the ethics of artificial intelligence, Robot Ethics 2.0: From Autonomous Cars to Artificial Intelligence (Oxford University Press, 2017). Dr. Jenkins earned his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 2014.
